Hi,

I have a excel document with SageCRM link (e.g.  http://server/eware.dll/SessionFind?Act=ID&Mode=1&CLk=T&key0=7&key7=ID&Oppo_OpportunityId=ID
)

When clicked on this link from excel or word it opens in two IE windows but when I create new link to e.g. http://google.com it only opens in a single IE window.

So I trough it might be something to do with this  (eware.dll/SessionFind?Act=ID&Mode=1&CLk=T&key0=7&key7=ID&Oppo_OpportunityId=ID) so I created new link with just http://server/ but again it open into two IE windows.

When I asked my colleague to do same thing everything is open in single IE window.

I don't understand why my Excel and Word opening this hyperlink to server in multiple IE windows.

  • Server: Windows 2008 R2
  • PC: Windows 7 Enterprise 64X
  • Browser: IE 11
  • Office 365 (2013)

Try to open the link in WordPad check if that works.

If that does not work set any other browser as default and check if other browser opens the link.
If I make Firefox as my default browser then it works fine, as link opens in a single window with Firefox,
If I paste the link in wordpad then again it opens the link in single window in IE or firefox.
So I think they is problem with office. Its not just this user anyone logon to this pc have same problem.
This is what I have from Microsoft Support "The issue described under this case has been identified to be related to Office Client Usability. This is out of Support Boundary for Office 365."
I have removed office 365 and just installed the excel viewer and I had same problem
